REGULATIONS FOR COMPETITION/CHAMPIONSHIP

1. The competition/championship will be conducted following SOBHD rules. The judge’s decision is final.

2. Pre-Premier Age groups will be determined according to the number of entries. All competitors’ ages determined as of the day of the competition, February 27, 2010. Proof of age must be furnished upon request.

3. Medals will be awarded in each event, except PREMIER 16 & Under 18 and PREMIER 18 & Over, where cash prizes will be awarded. DANCERS MUST BE IN COSTUME TO RECEIVE AWARDS. If there are three dancers or less in any event, medals will be awarded at judges’ discretion.

4. A trophy will be awarded to the highest aggregate point winner in each age group. No trophy for Primary.

5. Dancers entering first will dance last. Dancers must be ready and appear when called or forfeit the chance to dance in that event.

6. Premier Choreography limited to 6 - 13 & Under, 6 - 14 & Over entries and 6 group entries. Maximum time - 3 minutes.

7. Entries will be accepted with 2009 registration numbers as long as you remember to bring your "2010" registration card to the competition.

8:00 AM - PRIMARY, BEGINNER, NOVICE & INTERMEDIATE and PRE-CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION

8:30 AM - PRE-PREMIER AND PRE-CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION BEGINS

10:00 AM – CHOREOGRAPHY REGISTRATION (Choreography competition will take place at the conclusion of the Pre-premier competition and pre-championship)

12:30 PM - PREMIER REGISTRATION

1:00 PM - PREMIER CHAMPIONSHIP BEGINS

ENTRY FEE - Competition and Sunday Workshop

Entry fees are *$20.00 for pre-premier and pre-championship and *$30.00 for premier. Solo choreography entry $20.00 and group choreography entry $35.00. Entries must be postmarked no later than February 19, 2010. An additional late fee of $10.00 pre-premier and $15.00 premier will apply for those entries posted after Feb. 19, 2010. Sunday Workshop (3 hour) fee is additional $40.00

$1.00 of each entry goes to Midwest FUSTA.

All non-competitors (family members, friends, & spectators) will purchase entrance ticket at the door.

Children under 6 yrs free; 6 yrs – 12 yrs $2.00;

13 yrs and up $5.00

There is a special room rate of $111.95 (includes resort fee)+ tax per night, but you must mention "SCOTTISH HIGHLAND DANCERS" to the reservation agent. Book your rooms early to insure availability. (rate is not guaranteed after cut-off date of January 26^th) The hotel is easily accessible from the North-South Tollway (I-355). The hotel will be happy to supply you with directions when you reserve your room.
